They're a bit like categories, except a bit more flexible...if you upgrade to version 2.3 of Wordpress, it supports tagging automatically. Honestly, I like the blog as it is. I can understand the organization thing. I don't usually have it either. Or I don't really have enough ideas to sustain one type of column for really long. If you feel that having a schedule will help you, then by all means do it. But really, do it for you. I know for a fact that I will never remember that Mondays are literature posts and Tuesdays loli posts. I consume all my news and blog posts through rss feeds and as such I've stopped caring about dates long ago. I have a stream of entries coming to me automatically, I don't need to actively seek for content. I'm processing entries sequentially, so the Monday entry will just be a new entry in the stream that comes after the previous one and before the next one.
