IDM ableto download from un resumable servers, i use it to download games , repidshare, mega upload,adrive bla bla bla bla u can download 50 gig in one day

if you want and by far by best that i have use is IDM(Internet download Manager) its really easy to use….try it and u wont be dissapointed

I use DownThemAll, and the built-in firefox download function.

I used to use FlashGet, but DownThemAll performs the same functions while being integrated into firefox (most important here is the resume function).

I had problems with FlashGet as it opens multiple simultaneous connections, which is forbidden on some servers. Though that results in a faster download time, it turns out to not be worth it.

Of course, my mainstay is downloading through IRC – though not a download manager program, it can certainly function as one.

I tried GetRight before, but it just didn’t warrant its $50 price. It wasn’t the best of the bunch. Oh, and Google Chrome is nice.

Your current week is my entire last semester. With the exception of the thesis which I’m screwing up this semester as well.

More on topic, I generally use DownloadTheAll when I do direct download something, though I usually torrent when possible if it’s a sizable file.

I don’t tend to try new software often; I use what works. I use Free Download Manager out of habit, back when it was a overall replacement for GetRight. Following this, I neglected its version upkeep, and then got used a lack of browser integration once I upgraded from Firefox 2 to Firefox 3, and then switching browsers entirely to Google Chrome.

I have no clue about those, but if you want to browse the web faster, while downloading at a good speed in other programs, I’d recommend finding a caching proxy… which is store images, etc locally so they don’t redownload when browsing.

Also, I’ve used FlashGot, and there is an extension for Firefox called FlashGet, which was nice. Eventually, I got rid of FlashGot, but kept FlashGet and use wget as a download manager.
