Is this the strongest season in two years?

I may have been selling myself short with Infinite Stratos 2. With Kyoukai no Kanata, Coppelion, and Samurai Flamenco, this might be one of the stronger seasons of recent years. I’m totally sucked in by attractive, bespectacled women as well.

Given that you liked Ano Natsu de Matteru, I can thoroughly recommend Nagi no Asukara. It has a similar sort of feel in some ways, partly because the two shows share some of the staff and studios, but also because it’s another “A loves B loves C loves D” show. Nagi no Asukara (re-christened by me as Ponyo and Juliet, although that’s admittedly a gender-reversal), also appears to have a deeper theme, which is the re-integration of Japan into the wider world after many centuries of isolation, and the prejudices still felt today by the Japanese people.

As for Coppelion, I was intrigued at first and so I gave it a try, but I only lasted 4 episodes. The sheer incongruity of the various plot elements gradually wore me down, and, although I wouldn’t call myself a military otaku by any manner of means, the outrages they wrought on a B-2 stealth bomber were unforgivable! Also, I can understand why there might be such anti-nuclear sentiment in Japan, but the constant preachy tone grated with my own vehemently pro-nuclear energy stance.

that red eyed long black haired girl! waah! I super love this girl from Kyoukai =_= shes the reason why I watch it! LoL

I personally dropped copellion at that time, I was pretty bored at the first hmm 3 episodes? I have no idea what happened at next. IS II is said to be good, but I am yet to watch the first season 😀 thanks for reminding me, now I have one anime for me to watch 😀
